Disclaimer: This post was written in response to the post at this little blog and the numerous boneheaded comments people make under the cloak of anonymity of the interwebs.

Kenapa kita perlu fikir tentang siapa pengkarya tu dalam menentukan sama ada kita nak suka karya mereka atau tidak? Peliklah.

Tak semua orang akan suka sesuatu, itu lumrah manusia. Tapi tak bermakna kamu, dia atau sesiapa perlu bersusah payah untuk menunjukkan kebencian terhadap sesuatu. Cuba jadi peminat yang berfikir, dan berfikiran terbuka. Cuba dengar hasil titik peluh orang melalui corong-corong speaker kamu yang kamu beli dengan duit mak bapak kamu (sebab kamu tak ada kerja) dan fikirkan apa yang si pengkarya nak sampaikan. Itu sebahagian dari hidup mereka. Kamu tak layak nak dismiss hidup orang dengan begitu mudah tanpa menimbang apa yang kamu tak tahu.

Dengar, hayati, kalau suka hargai. Mungkin dengan cara sebegitu kamu lebih faham maksud menjadi insani.

Kamu mungkin ada terasa hati dengan apa-apa yang keluar dari mulut si pengkarya. Mungkin juga kamu rasa dia tidak sempurna dari segi manners dan akhlak. Atau kamu benci sebab seluruh kumpulan kamu pun tak suka orang tu, tanpa mengetahui sebabnya. Tak perlulah kamu nak menghasut orang lain untuk sama-sama membenci orang tu. Tak cool pun. Kalau betul-betul kamu mahu jadi cool, cuba kamu nilai seseorang pengkarya itu dengan karyanya. Bandingkan dengan karya-karya agung lain yang kamu tahu (ke kamu tak ada?), cari keindahan yang cuba diceritakan.

Aku tak nak jadi apologist Hujan, tapi aku komen dari pandangan seorang peminat muzik yang rasa muzik Hujan sedap didengar dan rasa mereka pemuzik yang berbakat di atas stage. Aku juga bukan scenester yang kononnya cukup arif dengan selok-belok muzik underground kita. Apa yang aku suka, aku dengarlah.

Biarlah mereka nak berlagak atau berperangai jerk (kalau betul mereka begitu), kamu tak perlu menjadikan mereka kawan kamu. Kawan-kawan kamu pun patut dah cukup banyak kalau betul kamu se-cool yang kamu sangka. Aku rasa Hujan tak berlagak, tapi mungkin kamu saja yang terhegeh-hegeh. Alah, kalau kamu cool mesti Hujan tak berlagak dengan kamu.

Biarlah Hujan tak suka gay (dan mungkin betul mereka tak suka gay). Yalah, sebab mereka straight. Kalau kamu pun mesti tak suka gay jugak, unless kamu gay dan mahu ahli Hujan menjadikan kamu sebagai bitch mereka. Mungkin sebab itu kamu melenting bila Hujan kata mereka tak suka gay.

Biarlah Hujan chauvinist dengan menggunakan perkataan "awek" (kalau betul itu menunjukkan chauvinism), bukannya kamu nak jadi awek dia. Kamu pun ada banyak benda lagi yang perlu dibuat, dan dikejar ramai jejaka yang gentleman dan lebih handsome dari Hujan. Ke kamu tak ada? Alah kalau kamu hot, mesti Hujan pun gilakan kamu, kan!

Bodoh.

Tak payah jadi kambing biri-biri, ikut mengembek kalau kawan-kawan semua tengah gatal mengembek. Lebih jelas, tak perlu nak fikir hidup personal Hujan. Kalau kamu rasa lagu mereka sedap, dengar. Kalau tak, carilah band lain yang kamu suka.

Aku lebih rela jadi biri-biri minoriti dari biri-biri bodoh.

Dear friends,

KugiranHujankeUK Foundation, Liverpool Chapter, would like to invite all of you to our gig, Hujan Live in Liverpool on the 29th of March 2008 at Zanzibar Club, Liverpool.

Formed in early 2006, this wave-worthy band consists of Noh on vocals and 2nd guitar, Dugong on bass, AG on 1st guitar and Ambobzeela on drums. Influenced by a diverse range of musicians which include the likes of The Strokes, The Beatles, Tan Sri P Ramlee, Butterfingers, and Radiostar, Hujan prefers to classify their music as alternative rock and has no qualms about delivering their material in Malay. They have recently been in high-profile shows such as the 8TV Anniversary Bash and Muzik-Muzik.

The gig will have Hujan playing an hour-long set (maybe more!), plus guest bands consisting of Malaysian students in Liverpool and also local bands from around the area. Our venue (Zanzibar Club, 43 Seel Street, Liverpool L1 4AZ) is quite a famous one within the indie scene in Liverpool, and bands such as The Kooks have played there in the past.

To obtain tickets, kindly click on the ticketing section on the top right. We will also sell tickets at the door on the day itself, but entry is not guaranteed as it depends on availability.

Tickets, anyone?

We would like to invite fans and friends to buy tickets for Hujan Live in Liverpool at £4 each.

For the ease of Hujan fans (Raingers?) and fellow gig-goers in the UK, we have 2 methods you can use to get tickets to our gig in Liverpool.

1. Through us
Email us at hujankeliverpool@gmail.com, with your name, contact number and quantity of tickets, and we will email you back with further instructions for money transfer, and once that has been cleared we will send you e-tickets.

Please print the e-tickets and bring those to the gig.

2. Through Ticketweb
Go to Zanzibar's Ticketweb page, click on "The Zanzibar Club presents HUJAN & friends" and follow the instructions. For an extra fee, the tickets will be mailed to you. If you prefer, you can collect them at the doors on the gig day (no extra charge).
